Back to School Night at Essex High School

 

An evening event for all ninth grade and new students and parents for Essex High School will be held at the high school gym on Wednesday, September 1st beginning at 7pm until 8:30pm.  When you arrive, you will need a copy of your class schedule which can be picked up in the office that evening or they will be available in the main office daily beginning Wednesday, August 25th.

EHS Open House

 

Essex High School will have its yearly open house for rising ninth grade students and students new to EHS on Wednesday September 1 at 7PM in the gym. Ninth Grade students who have not gotten their schedules will receive them at the open house. The program will include an opportunity for students and parents to experience the student day by walking through the schedule and meeting with classroom teachers.

Northumberland Co. Animal Shelter Adoption Day

 

Adoption Day at the Northumberland Co. Animal Shelter Wednesday, September 1st between 10am and 2pm.  Kitten season is late this year.  Many beautiful kittens available for adoption.  Save a life, adopt a shelter pet.

The Virginia Employment Commission offers weekly workshops for job seekers at the Re-employ Virginia center in Warsaw. All workshops are free and open to the public. Westmoreland County Little League Fall Ball Registration

 

Westmoreland County Little League will be holding Registration for Fall Baseball & Softball on Wednesday September 1 from 6-7PM at Hurt Field in Montross. Any boy who will between the ages of 9 and 12 as of April 30 2011 or any girl between the ages of 9 and 12 as of December 31 2010 is eligible to play. Teams are limited in size and will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Please call 493-0505 if you have questions.

Whelans Marina 5K Training Team

 

Whether you want to RUN, WALK, or JOG, the Whelans Marina 5K at Warsaw Fest is for people of ALL ages!  The training team starts on Saturday, September 4th at 9am for 5 weeks until race day on Saturday, October 9th.  All interested participants are invited to an informational meeting Sept. 2nd at 6:45pm at the Richmond Co. There will be a Back to School Fun Day at the Holley School Inc in Lottsburg on Saturday September 4 from 11-5PM. The Fairfeild & Callao Fire Dept. will be there to talk about Fire Safety and School supplies will be given out to children 4 to 16 years old. School Supply donations can be made at the School.

Richmond Co. Museum Annual River Cruise

 

Richmond Co. Museums Annual River Cruise aboard the Capt. Thomas in Tappahannock is set for Friday, September 17th from 6 to 8:30pm.  Tickets are now on sale and may be purchased by board members or by calling the Museum at 333-3607.  This years cruise is being dedicated to the late Francene Barber, former museum director.  Seating on the Capt.
