Radio station WRAR has been broadcasting from the studios located on historic Prince Street in Tappahannock since 1970. WRAR serves Essex and Richmond Counties, as well as Gloucester, King & Queen, King George, King William, Lancaster, Middlesex, Northumberland, and Westmoreland Counties, and was the only local radio station to stay on the air providing continuous coverage during Hurricane Isabel.
